Who We Are

Built on a founding insight that has waited too long.

Medical laboratory scientists. Physiotherapists. Radiographers. Pharmacists. Nutritionists. These are the professionals who touch every patient, every day — yet they are systematically absent from the African health research conversation. CAAHRAD was founded to end that absence.

We are a Limited Company registered to operate as an institutional advisory and research body. We work at the intersection of health policy, workforce development, digital health adoption, and evidence generation — with a specific mandate to amplify allied health's voice in African health systems.

Founded in Nigeria
Rooted in the African health system context. Building from lived reality.
Institutional Model
Not an NGO. Not a startup. A professional body with a commercial engine.
A-Waves Holdings Group
Credibility anchor within a multi-sector group with healthcare verticals.
AFRIHEALTH Ecosystem
Active participant and speaker platform for the continent's health leaders.

"Allied health disciplines deliver the majority of patient contact hours across Africa's health system. Yet they generate less than 8% of published health research on the continent. CAAHRAD exists to close that gap."

Our Mandate

To produce, publish, and apply world-class research on allied health practice, workforce, and technology in Africa — and translate that research into advisory, training, and policy influence.

Governance & Structure

Built to be trusted.

Institutions are only as credible as their governance. CAAHRAD is structured for transparency, accountability, and long-term institutional integrity.

01

Corporate Structure

CAAHRAD Ltd is registered under CAMA 2020 as a private limited company. It operates as a subsidiary within A-Waves Holdings Ltd, with independent governance, its own board, and arm's-length commercial operations. Independence of research is constitutionally protected.

02

Research Ethics

All CAAHRAD-published research is subject to formal ethical review. We operate a research ethics protocol consistent with Nigerian national health research ethics standards and international good clinical practice frameworks. Integrity is non-negotiable.

03

Advisory Independence

CAAHRAD's advisory work is vendor-neutral. We do not accept commissions from technology vendors for product recommendations. Our advisory income is exclusively fee-from-client — ensuring recommendations are driven by evidence, not commercial relationships.

04

Financial Governance

CAAHRAD operates ring-fenced financial accounts within the A-Waves Holdings structure. Annual financial statements are prepared to IFRS standards. Grant funds are separately accounted and subject to donor reporting requirements.

05

Publication Standards

CAAHRAD only publishes work that has undergone peer review or formal internal review. We do not publish commercially influenced content. Our publication record is our most valuable institutional asset — we protect it accordingly.

06

Membership Accountability

CAAHRAD members have clear rights and expectations. Member-funded activities are reported on annually. Professional standards expected of CAAHRAD members are clearly defined and enforced. We are building a community that demands excellence of itself.
